Panorama 2013: An International Gathering in Miami Beach

November 22, 2013

It's only been a week since NGC's Panorama User Conference, and if we could sum it up in a single word, it would be: "Amazing!"

By any measure, Panorama 2013 was an extraordinary event.

The weather was unusually blustery and rainy in Miami Beach, but that didn't put a damper on what turned out to be an international gathering.  We were thrilled to see so many attendees from around the world, including Hong Kong, China, Central and South America, Canada and throughout the United States. The presentations were first-rate, and the enthusiasm and support from our attendees created an outstanding environment for learning, networking and sharing ideas. [[more]]

AAFA president Kevin Burke set the tone for Panorama with his opening keynote address, "Getting Dressed Amidst Political Dysfunction," zeroing in on the challenges our industry faces in a polarized U.S. political climate.  The AAFA is a tireless advocate for the apparel and footwear industry, and NGC has been a long-time supporter.

Kevin outlined the importance of key trade agreements currently before Congress—none more important than TPP (the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement). As Kevin noted, "TPP will affect every single person in this room, one way or another, because trade is the lifeblood of our industry." Kevin also noted that risk is the #1 challenge in sourcing, focused on the difficulty in getting Congress to understand our industry's challenges, and stressed the importance of close cooperation between the technology industry and the AAFA.

NGC's customers took center stage, with thought-provoking presentations from Carter’s, Fashion Avenue Sweater Knits, Neatfreak, Rocky Brands, Swatfame, Stony Apparel, GTM Sportswear and Obermeyer. The presentations focused on company case studies and best practices, and the speakers graciously shared their insights and tips for improving productivity and efficiency with NGC's fashion PLM, Supply Chain Management and ERP solutions. Independent PLM analyst Peter Bambridge also provided insights on key PLM trends that are shaping the industry.

Panorama 2013 brought together customers from all over the world. The feedback from our attendees was overwhelmingly positive, and we are working hard to create an even better event next year.

Thank you to all of our speakers and attendees who helped make Panorama 2013 such a memorable event—and if you were unable to attend, we hope to see you next year.
