Southeastern Kentucky Rehabilitation Industries Selects New Generation
Computing’s Real-Time Shop-Floor Control System
Real-Time, Windows-Based Shop-Floor System Offers Enhanced
Functionality
MIAMI, Aug. 29, 2003 – New Generation Computing Inc. (NGC) today announced that
Southeastern Kentucky Rehabilitation Industries (SEKRI) has selected NGC’s The
Production Manager (TPM) with the Foxfire Technologies Real-Time Shop-Floor
Control System option. These software packages and real-time data-collection
devices enable the rapid collection and analysis of plant-level production,
quality, labor cost and incentive payroll data.
SEKRI will deploy the interoperable systems in September at its main factory in
Cumberland, Ky. The systems will provide SEKRI with real-time management of WIP
backlogs, mechanic machine repairs, quality analysis, line balancing and other
business processes. In addition, the systems will provide each of the company’s
sewing operators with immediate feedback about their individual pace and
productivity.
“We selected NGC’s Real-Time Shop-Floor Control System because of the
success we’ve enjoyed with NGC’s TPM software over the past four years,” said
Tom Fields, executive director of SEKRI. “The company’s products are easy to use
and install, and they’re considered the industry standard for payroll and
reporting. We expect that the real-time system option will provide us with
significant time savings, increased employee productivity, and substantial paper
and ticket savings.”
